President’s Message – February 2022

The question we will continually ask ourselves is…where are we going? We are going forward together, and we will not be going alone. I believe the saying goes if you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far; go together. We are going to go far.

We are going towards meeting in person. Though the in-person events will be smaller, we are hoping to have them more often. The Board is considering multiple educational providers who have expressed interest in sharing their knowledge and expertise with you; every effort is being made to make these events accessible to as many of the members as possible. Manual Therapy events will be repeated in various regions of the state, and we will continue to provide virtual events to support education that does not include a touch component.

In the same manner, the state conference will be held virtually to provide access to all members with a reduced financial burden. We are sensitive to the challenges of leaving private practice, traveling, and the associated costs that are placed on members that want to participate in state conference. The lineup of speakers is incredibly varied and deeply committed to the continuing success and progress of our industry.

With a new year comes new opportunities to get involved. There are Chapter Board elections coming as well as volunteer opportunities to support registration at our in-person events. Supporting the AMTA California Chapter can be a rewarding and fulfilling experience. We continue to seek out those that are interested in taking on the challenge. Within this newsletter, find the link that will take you to our website to register as a volunteer and we will be in contact when events are in your region.

While the state of our society may feel like a tedious cycle, we are in this together and we will continue to find ways to support each other by sharing our experiences, knowledge, and expertise. Reach out to each other, lend a hand where it is needed, and remember the immense opportunity we have to create a positive effect on the lives of our clients.
