President’s Message April 2023

The Board has been working diligently to put together a State Conference worthy of our first time together in years! We’re picking up where we left off and heading to Santa Ana! AND as an association, we are celebrating our 80th anniversary!

One of the main features of this Conference is going to be an expert panel with three past National Presidents! We have the fortune of having Dr. Leena Guptha, Cynthia Ribeiro, and Dolly Wallace among the California Chapter membership and all three have served as AMTA National Presidents! We’re going to hear about their volunteer journeys and how their professional lives were enhanced by volunteering.

There are some amazing classes that will meet the needs of all members regardless of expertise! We’re going from self-care to science based anatomical understandings.

We’ll be talking about uplifting yourselves as practitioners to how the opioid crisis is affecting California and the role Massage Therapy plays.

Along with that, we’re going to have a chance to socialize, network again, reignite old friendships and forge the future for our profession! and did we say we are Celebrating Our 80th Anniversary!

We have, at this time, two incredible sponsors in the California Massage Therapy Council and National Holistic Institute. We’d like to thank both of them for supporting our conference and maintaining our industry presently and in the future.

We can’t wait to see you!

A week after our conference, we are looking forward to everyone attending our Virtual Annual Business Meeting which includes our election results, on Friday, April 28, at 6-7pm via GoToMeeting.
