Best Buddies®

Best Buddies® serves the IDD community that Best Buddies serves includes, but is not limited to, people with Down syndrome, autism, Fragile X, Williams syndrome, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury and other undiagnosed disabilities.

Best Buddies® is the world’s largest organization dedicated to ending the social, physical, and economic isolation of the 200 million people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our programs empower the special abilities of people with IDD by helping them form meaningful friendships with their peers, secure successful jobs, live independently, improve public speaking, self-advocacy, and communication skills, and feel valued by society.

-Saturday, October 14 – Best Buddies® California Challenge, Skywalker Ranch, Marin, Cynthia Sykes (cynsykes46@gmail.com) is the coordinator for this event. Need 6 (six) local area massage therapists from 11am -4pm.  These riders know a massage is waiting for them, and they are very generous with their gratitude (historically).

May is National Mental Health Awareness Month.

AMTA has a host of Massage for Mental Health Resources (handouts, research articles, and continuing education).
