Trauma Informed Care will help LMT’s support clients with a history of trauma. MT’s who complete this class will learn learn strategies and tactics that enhance clinical care such as:
1. Detecting trauma responses.
2. Identifying instances where trauma may affect massage treatment.
3. Adhering to scope of practice.
4. Making trauma-informed decisions for clients coping with trauma, pain, stress, sleep changes, anxiety and depression.
5. Making appropriate referrals for patients who have experienced trauma.
About your speaker:
Marian Wolfe Dixon, MA, LMT and NCTMB approved CEU provider (#769) is a licensed massage therapist (OR #3902) master’s degrees in psychology and health education. She also successfully completed a two -year graduate fellowship in complementary and alternative medicine research with the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Marian has been working professionally as a massage therapist (since 1992) and health educator (since 1977). She is the author of Body Mechanics and Self Care Manual, Bodylessons, andMyofascial Massage.
