Call for Community Volunteers

Are you ready to share your knowledge and experience with the Massage Therapy community within California?

Do you want to see the profession and industry of Massage Therapy earn greater respect and acceptance?

Are you interested in contributing but are concerned with time commitments and responsibility?

Are you looking for a way to start volunteering with the AMTA?

The AMTA California Chapter is establishing two volunteer communities to support the Chapter Board’s ongoing activities to support and enhance the professional lives of our members. The two communities, (one Northern California and one Southern California) will:

  • Support Chapter Members by:
    • Determining educational wants/needs
    • Locating appropriate educational event facilities
    • Creating local networking events
    • Foster grass-root government relations efforts
  • Support the Chapter Board by:
    • Attending AMTA National Volunteer Training
    • Supporting educational events
    • Sharing member concerns and perspectives
    • Communicating with local members

Community responsibilities:

  • Each community will consist of six (6) volunteers
  • One (1) of those volunteers will serve as Chairperson for that community and interact directly with the Chapter Board.
  • The communities will meet for a minimum of 1-hour, once a month.
  • The community chairperson will create an agenda for each meeting.
  • Meeting reports will be submitted to the Chapter President after each meeting.
  • Community Chairs will attend Chapter Board meetings to present activities to the board and receive approval for events when needed.
