This class is designed to prepare massage therapists as clinical participants in the Continuum of Care for Veteran patients. Participants will be provided with massage methods and treatment options that address pain and common service-related injuries. Topics include elements of treatment protocols, therapeutic interventions, and episodes of crisis skills. This class is a higher-level learning class that augments the learning from our program’s introductory level classes.

About Nicole Miller :

In 2004, after experiencing a career in higher education administration, Nicole Miller, M.S., L.M.T. embarked on the field of Integrative Health by becoming a massage therapist. From the very beginning, Nicole fused massage therapy education, awareness, and outreach initiatives. Since 2005, she has supported Crouse Health as an educator and Coordinator of Integrative Health, working with patients living with perinatal anxiety & depression, chemical dependency, obesity, cancer, and trauma. She has served as a VA Massage Therapist for two years, and for the past two years provides in-patient IM care to antepartum and postpartum patients at Crouse Health. Nicole is the creator of the Hands & Hearts in Action: Massage for Veterans program. The program embodies an authentic community-based learning attribute having provided therapy services to veterans, U.S. armed forces personnel, and family members at Clear Path for Veterans and U.S. military active duty bases.

Nicole is a former instructor of massage therapy at Morrisville State College and the Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage. Aside from her presentations at AMTA NY and AMTA National, she has also presented at the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric & Neonatal Nurses NY Conferences (AWHONN) in 2007, 2008, and 2018 as well as Post-Partum International, Syracuse, in 2019. As a clinical massage therapist, she has supported thousands of patients through the power of massage therapy, and now enjoys helping massage therapists through the power of education.
