Originally, passed the moratorium on 1/15/15 for 45 days and issued extension on 3/1/15 for 10 months, which puts the end date at January 2016.

DUARTE

Synopsis: Moratorium on establishing, locating or operating new massage establishments. Initially passed 45 day moratorium on 7/8/14 and then extended it for 10.5 months on 8/12/14 with an expected end date of July. 2-15. On April 14, 2015 a new ordinance was passed amending massage and zoning codes and requires conditional use permit and minimum of 2,000 sq. feet for any massage establishment. EL CERRITO

Synopsis: Moratorium will prohibit the issuance of all City permits to new and existing massage establishments except for renewals and for emergency repairs and associated permits. Does not apply to home occupation. Initially passed a 45 day moratorium on 2/15/14 and issued a 10.5 month extension on 4/7/15 with an expected end date of 02/16. GLENDALE

Synopsis: Moratorium on the establishment of new massage establishments but does allow for transfer of ownership. Initially passed a 45 day moratorium on 4/7/15 and then issued a 10.5 month extension on 5/12/15 with the exemption for businesses that already began tenant improvements with city permits. No expected end date as the city attorney promises it will not be in place for long and is actively investigating land use options. Defines establishment as any business, including where massage is accessory. MODESTO

County: Stanislaus

Synopsis: Consider adopting an Urgency Ordinance establishing a forty-five (45) day moratorium on the establishment of new and the expansion of relocation of existing massage and bodywork establishments within the City of Modesto. Only able to find language on 2014 moratorium, this one would have ran until Feb. 2015 where a new one / same one could have been put in place – Montebello

Synopsis: An interim ordinance O-15-1291-U of the city of San Marino prohibiting the commencement of operation of any new massage establishment, including issuance of building permits and other land entitlements to construct and/or operate any new massage establishment, in any zone within the city’s limits. The proposed interim ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and shall expire forty-five (45) days thereafter unless extended by the City Council as provided in California Government Code Section 65858. The initial ordinance passed 5/13/15 and was extended 10.5 months on 6/10/15.
